Leading insurance software specialist, Axe Group, has recently welcomed Elizabeth Watson as its new Chief Customer Experience Officer. Elizabeth has over 15 years’ experience in the tech sector, most recently at Conga, a revenue operations software provider.

Having worked in Asia, Europe, and the US, Elizabeth has the experience necessary to offer guidance as the business grows. “I’ve been involved in quite a few expansions such as moving into new regions, establishing new product lines, setting up new teams and executing acquisitions. I love being part of that team building and ensuring everyone is heading in the same direction when these big changes are happening.”

As Chief Customer Experience Officer, Elizabeth has strong opinions about what makes a successful vendor/client relationship. “Trust is key. Axe is providing systems that are essential to the successful operation of these companies, so it’s vital they find us responsible and attentive to their needs. We don’t want to simply fulfil their needs; we want to provide them with a vision of all the possibilities available to them if we work together. My job is to ensure that, as we take on more clients, all of them receive the high levels of service that Axe has always provided.”

With Elizabeth’s appointment, Axe Group has reached a significant milestone in reaching 100 employees. According to founder Martin Stewart, “Elizabeth is joining us at an exciting time and will be an integral part of our new leadership team as we focus on expanding in Australia and in new markets overseas.”

“I was drawn to Axe Group because they genuinely live their values,” explains Elizabeth, “the 50% proportion of women at Axe is not just amazing for a tech company, but for an Australian business in general. And it’s across all levels of the company and in all departments with many of the team being here for seven or more years. I’m excited about taking their commitment to diversity and inclusivity and finding ways to help them expand without sacrificing the great culture that they’ve established. Instead of the challenge being how do we raise the proportion of women in the company, it’s how can we demonstrate to potential clients what the value is of having a truly diverse workforce.”

Having grown up in the US where she attained master’s degrees from University of Southern California and University of Arizona, Elizabeth now lives in Sydney with her Australian-born partner and their dog. She is an enthusiastic member of Women in Tech, Tenfold, and The B Team Australia.

Elizabeth has a keen interest in fitness and sees parallels in working out in the gym with a coach and the part Axe has to play with their clients. “It’s about understanding that you can’t just go flat out all the time, you have to go through cycles of hard work and then periods of rest and recuperation that allow you to do even more the next time.”
