Axelerator Platform Functionality
The Axelerator Insurance Platform provides many key features underlying the New Business Working Model
Portals and Dashboards
Workbench
A workbench is provided as the interface for users to interact with the system. Through this workbench intermediaries such as advisors or agents can apply for insurance on behalf of their clients, access real-time data on the status of their applications and access any policy documents or disclosure statements relevant to the insurance they are applying for.
Workbenches are configurable to show work allocated to users and work that is not yet allocated and requires attention. When logged on to Axelerator a user can see all policies assigned to them, including the date the policy information was last updated and other key information.
The applicant workbench shows details of previous and current quotes and insurance applications. If the insurer is also using Axelerator Life Claims, they will also be able to the status of any claims they have lodged.
Role Management
Role types can be defined to provide for differing levels of access. When users are created in the system they are assigned a role type with permissions which governs what processes and information are visible to them and what level of access they have to particular insurance applications.
Service Level Agreement Management
Service levels can be set for each stage of the new business processes. Service level indicators are displayed on management dashboards and in reports. Emails can be generated to notify users when work is overdue, or when a service level has been breached. Different SLAs can be configured by channel, insurance application type etc. A report can also be configured to measure the service level standards across the entire quote, apply and fulfilment process.
Product Management
Define Products
Axelerator stores the details of insurer’s product offerings including rules, premium calculations and standard documents. These can be easily updated through Axelerator Studio when a product is changed. Changes are completed through rules configuration which can be handled by a business user, without requiring IT involvement.
Technology
Administration and Access
The Axelerator Insurance Platform has various functions inbuilt to provide insurer’s with tools to control the way users can access the platform and which details of applications and policies issued that they can view. This is achieved by defining role types in the system and assigning access rights to individual users by role type.
The overall process flow for the management of the application process is controlled by rulesets designed in the Axelerator Insurance Platform and is dependent on role permissions, session actions and policy application status.
The role permissions dictate what session actions are available to the user. The session action performed will in turn determine the status of the insurance application, and depending on this status, users with different role permissions might have view, edit or no access to policy details.
Reports
Axelerator Life New Business provides extensive, and highly customizable, reporting functionality out of the box. Reports can be generated by searching for quotes by name or policy number, by underwriter, by date of occurrence and by value. Detailed analysis can also be undertaken on insurance applications and the resultant effects of underwriting rules delivering to the insurer a better analytical view of different products and how they are performing.
Document Generation
Various standard documents required throughout the New Business process can be automatically generated in Axelerator. Documents configurable to meet each insurer’s unique requirements can be created and pre-populated in .pdf .docx or .xlsx formats. These documents can then be sent via email or other mediums, and stored and linked to the corresponding insurance application or policy record.
Many standard templates are provided including needs analysis overview, quote document, application details summary, letters and policy schedules. Inbound scanned documents, images and voice recordings can also be processed and linked to the corresponding application record.
Documents can be stored in Axelerator and referenced against each individual insurance application request. Integrations via web services to third party document management systems are also able to be implemented so existing systems can continue to be used.
Personalization and Channels
The personalization function enables Axelerator’s multi-channel capability to be configured, and allows for the definition of users and roles, channels, white-labelling, UI themes and user workspaces.
Multi-channel provides the ability to generate and present the web user interface differently for each route to market used by a business, e.g., directly through the organization’s website vs. through a partner so the web interface takes on the look and feel of the partner’s website.
For Axelerator Life New Business this means that the user interface can be tailored depending on the channel to the applicant, a feature that’s particularly important for the Group Life insurance market, where the applicant typically interacts with the group or fund they are a member of, rather than directly with the life insurer.
Integration Services
Axelerator can integrate with, or overlay, existing back end or legacy systems, allowing the creation of rules that access existing systems and integration of them into the new automated new business processes.
Using these capabilities Axelerator Life New Business can access data residing in an external system and incorporate it into an automated process. For example, an existing Policy Administration System can be accessed to confirm that this applicant does not already have an existing policy in place before being allowed to proceed with completing the insurance application form.
Secure User Access
Full control over user registration, authentication and authorization is managed through the Axelerator Insurance Platform.
Single Sign-on
Single sign-on authenticates users giving them access to an existing system or portal as well as to Axelerator Life New Business. For example, in Group Life Fund Members can be configured to have access granted to the Axelerator application when they log in to their Funds portal site.
Direct Public Access
This allows for non-secure online access. Axelerator Life New Business includes a registration facility to enable needs analysis, quotations and insurance applications to be submitted via public sites without requiring a user login and password to be used.
This is particularly important for Direct Life Insurance where a user will often want to anonymously complete the needs analysis and quotation process, after which if they are accepting of the outcome provided, they can enter their specific details to continue on to the fulfilment and policy issue stage.
Administrator Access
Administrator access is used to manage all user access, role and administration functions. Through this access insurer’s can add, copy, delete and update users; add, update and delete user roles; assign users to roles and channels; suspend or re-activate users and add, update and delete channels.
