Axelerator Platform Functionality
The Axelerator Insurance Platform provides many key features underlying the Claims Working Model
Portals and Dashboards
Workbench
A workbench is provided as the interface for claimants to interact with the application. Through this workbench claimants can lodge a claim, access real-time data on the status of their claims and access any medical or employer reports or statements generated in support of their claims.
Role Management
Role types can be defined to provide for differing levels of access. When users are created in the system they are assigned a role type with permissions which governs what processes and information are visible to them and what level of access they have to particular claims.
Role-based Dashboards
Dashboards are available out of the box for Case Managers, Fund Assessors, Claimants, Claims Assessors, Claims Team Leaders, Administrators, Trustees, Advisors and Reinsurers.
These dashboards are configurable to show work allocated to the user and work that is not yet allocated and requires attention. For example, when logged into Axelerator Life Claims, the user defined as a Claims Assessor can see all claims assigned to them, including the date the claim information was last updated and other key information. When the system automatically assigns a claim or task to a user, an email to the user can be triggered via rules configuration.
Service Level Agreement Management
Service levels can be set for each stage of the claims process. Service level indicators are displayed on user dashboards and in reports. Emails can be generated to notify users when work is overdue, or when a service level has been breached. Different SLAs can be configured by channel, claim type etc.
A report can also be configured to measure the service level standards across the entire claim process.
Technology
Administration and Access
The Axelerator Insurance Platform has various functions inbuilt to provide insurer’s with tools to control the way users can access the platform and the claims details. This is achieved by defining role types in the system and assigning access rights to individual users by role type.
The overall process flow for the management of a claim is controlled by rulesets designed in the Axelerator Insurance Platform and is dependent on role permissions, session actions and claim status.
The role permissions dictate what session actions are available to the user. The session action performed will in turn determine the status of the claim, and depending on the claim status, users with different role permissions might have view, edit or no access to the claim.
Reports
Axelerator Life Claims provides extensive, and highly configurable, reporting functionality out of the box. Standard reports provided include Outstanding Claims Report, Incidents Activity Report, Claims Analysis Report, Third Party (Recovery) Report, Finalised Claims Report, Payment Summary Report and Analysis of Claims data.
Reports can be generated by searching for claims by name, date of birth, reference numbers, case managers, date of occurrence and value.
Document Generation
Various standard documents required throughout the claims process can be automatically generated in Axelerator. Templates and forms, configurable to meet each insurer’s unique requirements can be created and pre-populated in .pdf .docx or .xlsx formats. These documents can then be sent via email or other mediums, and stored and linked to the corresponding claims record.
Many standard templates are provided out of the box, including a Claim Overview Report, Doctor’s and Employer’s Statement, Medical Attendant Statement, Decline letters and Reinsurer’s Notifications. Inbound scanned documents, images and voice recordings can also be processed and linked to the corresponding claims record.
Documents can be stored in Axelerator and referenced against each individual claim. Integrations via web services to third party document management systems are also able to be implemented so existing systems can continue to be used.
Personalization and Channels
The personalization function enables Axelerator’s multi-channel capability to be configured, and allows for the definition of users and roles, channels, white-labelling, UI themes and user workspaces.
Multi-channel provides the ability to generate and present the web user interface differently for each route to market used by an insurer, e.g., directly through the organization’s website vs. through a partner so the web interface takes on the look and feel of the partner’s website.
For Axelerator Life Claims this means that the user interface can be tailored depending on the channel to the customer. This feature is particularly important for the Group Life insurance market, where the customer typically interacts with the group or fund they are a member of, rather than directly with the life insurer.
Integration Services
Axelerator can integrate with, or overlay, existing back-end or legacy systems, allowing the creation of rules that access existing systems and integration of them into the new automated claims processes.
Using these capabilities Axelerator Life Claims can access data residing in an external system and incorporate it into an automated process. For example, an existing Policy Administration System can be accessed to verify details of a policy number entered by a claimant into the claim lodgement form, and then data from that system can be used to populate the form thus saving the claimant from having to re-enter data that already exists in your systems.
Secure User Access
Full control over user registration, authentication and authorization is managed through the Axelerator Insurance Platform.
Single Sign-on
Single sign-on allows for users to be able to be authenticated to sign on to an existing system or portal, and have this also grant them access to Axelerator for Life Claims. For example, in Group Life Fund Members can be configured to have access granted to the Axelerator application when they log in to their Fund’s portal site.
Direct Public Access
This allows for non-secure online access. Axelerator Life Claims includes a registration facility to enable claims to be lodged via public sites without requiring a user login and password to be used.
Administrator Access
Administrator access is used to manage all user access, role and administration functions. Through this access insurer’s can add, copy, delete and update users; add, update and delete user roles; assign users to roles and channels; suspend or re-activate users and add, update and delete channels.
Third Party Access
Secure, third party access is available to allow other contributors to the claims process including doctors and employers direct access to the application allowing them to update details of claims in real-time. This removes any duplication in data entry and speeds up the claim process.
